Omega Nutrition Hi-Lignan Nutri-Flax Certified Organic - 16 Oz

Omega Nutrition's Hi Lignan Nutri-Flax is an ideal whole-food product offering a source of dietary fiber and ALA omega-3-polyunsaturates. Researches reveal that lignan in flax seed shows a lot of promise in fighting disease -- including a possible role in cancer prevention especially breast cancer.  It is a certified-organic, finely ground, low-fat flax seed fiber, processed and packaged without the damaging effects of light and oxygen.

Hi Lignan Nutri-Flax:

  • High fiber supplement
  • The highest level lignan product carried in the Omega line
  • Helps to regulate bowel movements
  • Certified Organic and Certified Kosher
Flax seeds contain a high quality protein and are rich in soluble fiber. Flax seeds contain over a hundred times more of a phytonutrient, known as lignin, than any of its closest competitors, such as wheat bran. Lignins seem to flush excess estrogen out of the body, thereby reducing the incidence of estrogen-linked cancers, such as breast cancer. Besides anti-tumor properties, lignins also seem to have antibacterial, antifungal, and antiviral properties. The capsules contain 550 mg of certified organic Nutri-Flax®. These convenient capsules allow you to take your Hi-Lignan® supplement anytime, anywhere.

Ingredient Details:Organic partially defatted flax seed powder.

Expert Advice:Benefits of flax seed as shown in many studies include lowering total cholesterol and LDL cholesterol (the Bad cholesterol) levels. Other benefits show that flax seed may also help lower blood triglyceride and blood pressure. It may also keep platelets from becoming sticky therefore reducing the risk of a heart attack.

Suggested Use:Add 1 tablespoon to a large glass of water or juice. Stir well and drink immediately. Follow with an additional glass of water. Do not swallow in dry form. Use daily in blender drinks, green drinks, and baked goods.

Nice Fine Powder I prefer this fine powder to certain other flaxmeal products like NOW flaxmeal which is not as fine. I was using Nature's Way Flax, but it seems they switched from brown flax to gold flax. Some of these companies don't like to list the type of flax on the label. I don't like the fairly new golden flax. I like the original brown flax, which I think is more filling and has a better taste, texture, and more antioxidants. This Nutri-Flax seems like brown flax to me. I eat at least 30 grams a day and I just add a measured amount of water, let it thicken and eat it straight as part of my breakfast. However, I'm still going to try a few other flax products. The seal could be a little better on this container. Fine brown flax powder is getting hard to find. Many people think golden is just as good as brown, when, in fact, brown flax is actually somewhat superior, based on everything I've read. Darker food usually has more antioxidants; brown flax contains healthy tannins.
