Jarrow Formulas True CMO contains a concentrated extract of the fatty acid cerasomal-cis-9-cetyl myristoleate from natural bovine source. CMO is not found in any vegetable oils or other common foods. CMO is found in low amounts in animal connective tissue. It is a bovine product and not from a vegetable source. Vegetable oils do not contain cetyl myristoleate. CMO acts as a type of joint "lubricant" and anti-inflammatory agent. Based on animal studies and several human case histories CMO is now believed to be a useful and effective treatment for both osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis.

Cetyl-Myristoleate also known as CMO or CM, was discovered by Harry W. Diehl, a researcher at the National Institutes of Health, working alone in his home lab. Diehl took a fatty acid, myristoleic acid, and combined it with a fatty alcohol molecule, cetyl alcohol, creating an ester of that fatty acid called cetyl myristoleate. He discovered that it was the presence of this compound in swiss albino mice that prevented them from developing joint problems. Diehl's laboratory experiments on CM were published in the Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences in March, 1994.

Comment # 1 ( khamis Amir, Great Britain ) Rating: g m cole Ordered True CMO for friend who was going to have a knee replacement, she also had arthritic pain in hips & back.After taking course of True CMO now pain free & knee also so much better that knee replacement op. has been posponed.(Pain relief was noticed two days after starting course). No adverse side effects noticed.

Thirty days on this product at above recommeded dosage and I experienced a 90% relief in symptoms. The best part is that you don't have to keep taking it unless the symptoms reappear. Truly a miracle supplement for me.

Comment # 4 ( LUU QUOCMINH, California ) Rating: takes time CMO seems to require a number of weeks to get up to the needed concentration in my joints, but once I get there, I get motion in parts of my spine that have been nearly locked up for years. The trick is to keep taking it when things are good, because it takes a long time before I notice they are getting worse, and then it takes weeks to get back on program. I originally tried a brand called Mysterol, which worked great, but was way more expensive than Jarrow, and he did the original research. I have also tried some of the other pills, but none seemed to be as effective (although my tests were relatively brief, which isn't enough for drawing big conclusions).
