Jarrow Formulas Bilberry + Grapeskin Polyphenols is a synergistic blend of standardized flavonoid antioxidants. These flavonoid antioxidants support visual function. Anthocyanisides have a high affinity for the retinal-pigmented epithelium, where it retards the breakdown of retinal purple (rhodopsin). They also inhibit the excessive activity of phosphoglucomutase and glucose-6-phosphatase in the retina, and support microcirculation and the structure of retinal capillaries. Bilberry flavonoids support and protect vision by enhancing antioxidant status in the eye and reducing capillary permeability and fragility. It also support veinous structure.
